Mary Lynn Dempsey, 16, died on March 9, 1968, as a result of a car accident in Spotsylvania.  Also killed in the crash were Spotsylvania High School classmates, Diane Taylor and Alex McKenzie, and James Marvin Moore of Stafford.  Mary Lynn was a Spotsylvania High School sophomore and a member of the school's field hockey and basketball teams. Among her survivors were her father and two brothers.
