James Bernard "Jim" Williams, 46, died Sunday, November 1, 1998, at Mary Washington Hospital of cancer.  Born in Fredericksburg, Mr. Williams has retired as a real estate assessor for Spotsylvania County.  He was a certified public appraiser and avid gardener.  Among his survivors were  his wife, Deborah, and two daughters.
