Charles Linwood Washington Sr., 60, of Spotsylvania County passed azway on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital. Charles was born June 22, 1050, in Spotsylvania. He was a 1970 graduate of Spotsylvania High School. He entered the work force at an earyl age. Before retiring in June 2009, he worked a federal government contractor. He had previously retired from Laborers' Local 657. He received numerous accolades for his diligence and excellent workmanship during his 19 years with the federal government, including one from the White House for his special talents, hard work, and dedication. He loved cars and bowling and was a member of the American Bowling League.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age at True Light Pentecostal Church in Spotsylvania. For the past two years, he and his wife worshiped with the saints at Temple of Deloiverance HCG in Mineral.
Among his survivors are his wife, Jacqueline; sons, Charles Washington, Jr. of Spotsylvania and Chris Washington (Sury) of Harrisonburg, and daughter, Tanya Washington -Ocasio of Locust Grove; two brothers, Joe and Willie, and one sister, Phyllis Smith, of Spotsylvania; and six grandchildren.
